Screening of the documentary film, “Sohrai Likhan” on 11 August, 2018

Aug 17,2018

On 11 August, the Jadunath Bhavan Museum and Resource Centre was privileged to screen the documentary film, "Sohrai Likhan", featuring the little-known astoundingly-beautiful tradition of wall painting on mud huts by Santhal women across several villages of north Purulia. The film was made by Ratnaboli Bose and the Daricha Foundation, (an organization dedicated to the promotion of folk and tribal arts). It was our special pleasure to host the two young men of the region, Saheb Ram Tudu and Bimal Baskey, and the young editor, Dhritiman Das, without whose efforts the film could never have been made.
